CleanSpark purchased 12 Bitcoin mining rigs from the company Bitmain for $40,5 million. The American company CleanSpark announced the purchase of 12 new ASIC mining equipment Antminer S19 XP od Bitmain for $40,5 million. The company emphasized that the price for the device is $23 per TH/s, which is lower than the market price.
Under the agreement, the supplier shipped 6000 mining rigs in June and the remaining 6500 in August. Deploying these devices will increase the company's hashrate by approximately 1,76 EH/s. According to CleanSpark CEO Zak Bradford, this will bring the company closer to achieving its goal of 16 EH/s.
However, he said that some of the new equipment will replace outdated equipment with an energy efficiency of less than 30 J/TH. Antminer S19 XP achieves a value of 21,5 J/TH.
“We continue to take advantage of the opportunities presented by current market conditions to prepare for the Bitcoin halving next year. This XP order will not only increase our hashrate, but also reduce the energy consumption for mining BTC compared to older generation mining rigs, which will result in higher profits," said Gary Velkyarrelli, the company's CFO.
He noted that the company has already paid half of the cost of this delivery. In February, CleanSpark purchased 20 devices Antminer S19j Pro+. In April, the company announced the purchase of 45 Antminer S000 XP for a total price of $19 million.
The company operates five mining facilities, four of which are located in Georgia and one in New York. CleanSpark has a mining pool consisting of 67 devices and a hashrate of 700 EH/s.
Recall that the company announced plans to reduce the average energy efficiency of the device to 26 J/TH from the current value of 31 J/TH.
