FRAME

"RAM" is an abbreviation for Random Access Memory.  This is a PC memory. A component without which you won't even turn on your computer today. At the same time, it is the basis of the popular abbreviation of the word that we use for RAM, ie: "RAMKA / Y"

"Frames" are the best friend of the CPU and GPU and have a very specific relationship with the APU (combination of processor and graphics card) which we will explain in the following article.

There are several parameters that will interest us, namely the type of DDR, frequency, CL timing and whether it is single or dual channel and custom size. We are also interested in their system / composition, for example 1x16GB or 2x 8GB, cooling, XMP (overclocking profile) and type as DDR1,2,3,4 There are own memories for the GPU, namely GDDR3 / 4/5/6, but later.

It is important to set the maximum frequency for RAM, which is specified by the manufacturer in the BIOS. Since there is a standard called "JEDEC" which will let your Ramky in "standard" speed mode it will usually work at half speed which will have a big impact on performance especially for medium power PCs. And an extreme performance impact for all modern "APU PCs" (based today more or less only on Ryzen) although Intel is the most widespread with the HDGraffic range, so it is a 3xxx / 4xxx / 5xx APU. they are practically impossible to play and are primarily for office and multimedia purposes…

As you can see in our comparison .. Just changing the frequency has an extreme impact on gameplay and performance in FPS .. Basically free by just changing from "JEDEC" to "XMP" Of course, you can get much more from RAMEK .. But it would be "precise" Overclocking and not just XMP setting .. Although XMP has a drastic impact on performance .. it is not omnipotent and nothing compares to the old school setting of timings, latencies, etc. Pleasant about all this is the fact that the PC from us you get completely preset and tuned ..  

APU vs RAM

As I have already stated APUs are extremely dependent on the speed, composition and type of RAM where turning on XMP can basically have an enormous impact in the form of up to 70% performance increase in 3D applications… Which we will show again on the reference PC

As you can see, the increase in FPS is enormous because, unlike INTEL, where such an increase is not possible due to the architecture, it is absolutely crucial for AMD. Furthermore, AMD is in full swing in this case. Thanks to the open multipliers and the possibility of hard setting the shared memory that the integrated GPU bites from RAM, the speed of the GPU core can achieve results comparable to the lower range. Like RX550 2GB or RX560 2GB. But also the GT1030 and in some cases achieve the performance of the GT1050. 

Conclusion

So we already know that RAM is an important part of the holy trinity of CPU, RAM and GPU. Which sometimes has an extreme effect on performance and a definitely high impact on percentage drop reduction, tearing, and overall system response. So you will always find resounding names like HyperX, Viper and the like in our PCs, always with the XMP profile at its maximum!
