ASUS introduced the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card in the Megalodon version. The main feature of this solution is the absence of the need for a 16-pin power cable (12VHPWR) or any other. Of course, it is impossible to power a 200-watt graphics card through only one PCIe x16 connector, which is why the manufacturer supplemented it with another connector next to this one. And yes, a separate motherboard with the necessary power connector will be required to utilize this graphics card feature.
Of course, it is impossible to completely do without power cables for the graphics card, but they will be hidden in the back. In combination with motherboards whose power connectors are located at the back, this graphics card can be a great solution for a build without visible cables, but this is currently only possible with components from ASUS, and the release dates of the Megalodon graphics cards remain unknown.
