PC for Resident Evil Re:Verse

Resident Evil Re:Verse is the name of the online survival horror game Resident Evil: Village. The mod itself is a session-based third-person shooter in an RE setting. The release is scheduled for May 7. Developed by Capcom.

The game will be sold in a bundle with the main Resident Evil: Village and will be released on the same day. There have already been several open beta tests, during which the developers got a taste of the players' hatred for lagging servers that tried to crash at times. All this created thousands of negative reviews for the new game and a completely degraded rating. This hatred is partly due to the fact that during the 4 days of testing, the servers were not allowed to many players, they kept crashing, and the situation did not change during the test. But let's hope they get it right. And while we treat reviews with care.

Gameplay

One match can be from four to six players, the duration is a maximum of 10 minutes. This means that we have the minimum amount of time to kill everyone because everything is there for each other. The other modes have yet to be announced, whether they will or won't be - there's no telling yet.

You can choose one of the characters you may have met before in the series: Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, Leon Kennedy, Jill Valentine and Hank from SWAT. Each of them have their own abilities and weapons. For example, Claire can set up traps that effectively remove competitors from the match. Jill can lay mines, Hank will turn invisible for a short time.

The unique mechanic is that after death you are reborn as a biological weapon, this means that death is quite a working moment. The power and type of bioweapons depends on the number of virus cans you take, so you have to collect them to become a stronger beast. After death, a stronger phase begins, in which all the results of the match are summarized.

Monsters such as the gamma hunter, the carnivorous reptile from the third part of RE, the stupid Jack Baker from the seventh part, Nemesis and even the Super Tyrant are available for transformation. Each creature has unique characteristics, skills and attack type. Baker loves to use a chainsaw and Nemesis rains missiles at you.

The mechanics of the Resident Evil Re: Verse process are built on the principle of revenge. After death, you turn into an evil creature and go to kill the one who dared to send you to another world. After the death of the monster, you are reborn as a human again. The constant battle of monsters and people in desmatch gives interesting feelings, usually not so in shooters.

hate

A wave of indignation has covered Capcom since Resident Evil: Resistance, the online supplement for the third part of the game. Players blame the developers for failing multiplayer PvP projects, and trying to create a relational shooter based on RE mechanics is a bad idea, because the whole atmosphere is lost. Loyal fans don't like good guys killing each other.

The technical part is also causing a wave of outrage, with many fans asking not to do anything with the game. At the same time, such excitement does not affect the perception of the main game Resident Evil: Village, it still has a high rating and level of audience approval. If the developers manage to fix the bugs and create a normal online PvP mode, then as a free add-on Resident Evil Re: Verse will be a nice bonus to the game.

Graphics and engine

The game is built on the RE Engine, as well as other projects of the studio, starting in 2017, and specifically Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. It is a decent modern game engine, packed with cutting-edge physics and graphics technology. This game will have ray tracing support, so stock up on RTX.

The system requirements of Resident Evil Re:Verse are quite high and very old computers will not run this game. The developers created this game primarily for new generation consoles, but in addition to their standard performance, there is a nuance - FPS: games on PS5 and Xbox S / X are produced for the number of frames in the region of 30-45. This is not enough for a computer, more sensitive mouse control will immediately reveal all the sins of this approach. The joystick controls the protagonist's view more smoothly, and at a stable 30-45 FPS it's normal, but the mouse is a thinner tool, and with sharp turns of the camera, you immediately notice the change of the frame in the corner of your eye.

System requirements

If we are talking about the computer for Resident Evil Re: Verse, we will rely on a comfortable 60 frames, it is not an online battle, so it is no longer necessary. But even for such a bar, we already need quite powerful hardware, an RTX 2060 with ray tracing turned on, or a better version of Super, which is more powerful and relevant at the moment. And that's on the dying FullHD. And for 2K you will already need an RTX 3070 or RTX 2080 Super for 60 frames.

Also, in the requirements for Resident Evil Re: Verse, the developers declare a powerful processor, namely the i7-7800. There really is no such model in Intel's lineup, it comes with either an X or a number at the end. These are processors with 6 and 4 cores, like any modern game, Resident Evil Re: Verse feels great on 6 threads, even if there is no Hyperthreading.

Minimal

Here the game is offered to us immediately in FullHD and with 60 frames on the RTX 2060 and on the GTX 1050 Ti you get almost the same, only with drawdowns in complex scenes and without ray tracing. With such a hardware setup, you will have to sacrifice graphics, you will have to set medium settings for a weaker card, and you can set high settings for a more powerful card. The developers recommend these system requirements for Resident Evil Re:Verse.

  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7500;
  • RAM: 8 GB;
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB of graphics memory (RTX off), RTX 2060 (RTX on);
  • Disk space: 40 GB.

High

These PC features for Resident Evil Re:Verse are optimal for building a new PC. You can use it for both FullHD and 2K gaming. Maximum graphics settings, FPS off the scale - it's all about this build. Please note that high-end modern components have been used here, which will remain relevant for years. A memory capacity of 16 GB is currently the best choice, as games will not exceed this barrier anytime soon. New consoles have just such a memory limitation, and developers will follow them for years to come.

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-11700K;
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4 @ 2666 MHz;
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti;
  • Disk space: 40 GB on SSD.

Recommended

This set of official requirements for Resident Evil Re:Verse is very extensive and recommends different cards for comfortable play. The developers claim that both the RTX 2070 and the RTX 3070 will push the game to 4K with 45 and 60 FPS, respectively, at maximum settings. Something I really don't believe in this, the best option would be to use RTX 2070 for 2K or 2,5K monitors, this card is not designed for 4K resolution. You can also say about the RTX 3070 that it will work more powerfully and confidently at this resolution with many games, but it is unlikely that high-end projects can comfortably play at maximum settings in 4K.

  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-7800;
  • RAM: 16 GB;
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 with 8 GB VRAM (RTX off), RTX 2070, RTX 3070 (RTX on);
  • Disk space: 40 GB.

Incredibly

Such a computer is ideal for 4K gaming. These PC requirements for Resident Evil Re:Verse are based on HYPERPC's experience in manufacturing gaming PCs. Premium balanced construction will keep you gaming comfortable for years to come. You can use any monitor from 2K to 4K, the RTX 3080 is a very productive graphics card and in many games you will be able to enjoy FPS in the region of 120 or more.

  • OS: Windows 10;
  • Processor: Intel Core i9-10900K;
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4 from 3200 MHz;
  • Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080;
  • Disk space: 40 GB on SSD m.2.

How to choose a PC for Resident Evil Re:Verse

When building a new computer, you should start by choosing a resolution and graphics card. At the moment, the current card models are clearly fixed at the appropriate resolution. A list of compatible features is provided below. In a gaming computer, the graphics card can take from 30 to 50% of the total price of the system unit. This is a universal component that can be installed in any system, therefore, after choosing a pair of monitor + card, you should start choosing a processor, motherboard, power supply, cooling system and case.

As for RAM, there is no choice, take 16 GB with two 8 GB matrices so that the frequency matches the maximum possible for the processor and motherboard. That's all you need to know about choosing RAM.

The processor is not so important for games, the computer for Resident Evil Re: Verse can even be quad-core. But of all the proposed current processor models, there is not one with 4 cores, only 6 and higher. 6 cores is the best choice for games, none of them can last longer, except for some simulators with a realistic physics model. But if you take the 8, you won't think about changing the CPU any longer.

Grafic card

The best indicator of performance is a real game test. Unfortunately, we only have recommended PC specs for Resident Evil Re:Verse, no benchmarks yet. But there are tests of Resident Evil 3 Remastered, which was released a year earlier, using the same RE Engine. This means that you can rely on this test when choosing a computer for a new game.

Frames per second 1920×1080 (Full HD) 2560X1440 (QuadHD) 3840x2160 (4K, UHD)
RTX 3090 244 166 87
RTX 3080 226 153 81
RTX 3070 157 106 56
RTX 3060 Ti 138 93 49
RTX 2080 Ti 169 111 57
RTX 2080 SUPER 141 90 46
RTX 2080 130 83 42
RTX 2070 SUPER 119 76 38
RTX 2070 105 67 34
RTX 2060 SUPER 101 64 33
RTX 2060 85 56 23
1660 GTX Ti 71 47 19
GTX 1660 SUPER 70 46 19

To make it easier for you to choose a graphics card according to your screen resolution, we have prepared a list that includes all resolutions available on the market with cards recommended for them.

  • FullHD – RTX 2060 Super, RTX 3060;
  • FullHD x 1,5 (1080p vertical scanning wide-angle monitors) - RTX 2070 Super, RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti;
  • 2K - RTX 2080 Super, RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 3070;
  • 2,5KB (1440p vertical widescreen monitors) - RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 3070, RTX 3080;
  • 4K - RTX 3080, RTX 3090.

processor

As mentioned above, the processor for games is not as important as the graphics card. Unless you have specific tasks like streaming or processing large video files, there is no point in buying a processor with 8+ cores. Unless, of course, you want to build a more powerful computer in the future and not update it for longer.

Basic: Intel Core i5-10600 (F), i5-10600K (F), i5-11600K (F); AMD Ryzen 5 3500X, 5 3600X, 5 5600X

The optimal choice for home use and full-fledged gaming on FullHD and 2K. These stones can handle any game at the recommended resolution if the graphics card is chosen correctly. For them, it is recommended to buy a card that is not more powerful than the RTX 3070, RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards, which will not be able to be opened on them.

Gaming: Intel Core i7-10700K (F), i7-11700 (F), i7-11700K (F), i9-10900K (F), i9-11900 (F); AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

A selection of powerful gems for professional streamers and gaming vloggers. On such processors, you can safely render video up to 8K resolution at the maximum bit rate. The overclocking option on the "K" models allows you to increase performance when needed. Suitable for 2K and 4K monitor setups.

Professional: Intel Core i9-11900K (F), i9-10900X, i9-10920X, i9-10940X, i9-10980XE; AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 9 5950X

For games, the performance of these stones is excessive. They will feel good in the top-class setups with two graphics cards for very high-resolution monitors, such as the same 8K or more 4K monitors.
