The memory of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card has been overclocked above 24 GHz - the mining speed has increased to 134 Mhash / s

The GDDR6X memory of the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti graphics card has been overclocked to 1538 MHz. Thus, its data transfer speed increased from 21 to 24,6 Gb/s per contact, and the throughput of the entire memory subsystem increased from 1008 to 1181 Gb/s.

The experiment was conducted by the TweakTown portal. Its goal was to test the possibility of overclocking Micron's new 16-gigabit memory chips within NVIDIA's flagship accelerator, as well as to measure the performance of the novelty in cryptocurrency mining Ethereum. For the experiment, we used ASUS GeForce RTX 3090 Ti ROG Strix LC with hybrid LSS and MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Suprim X with air cooling system.

Game tests after overclocking the memory to 24 Gb/s, both graphics cards failed. The stability of the work turned out to be a big question. At this speed, however, the GDDR6X memories worked stably during mining, notes the author of the experiment. At the same time, the MSI GeForce RTX 6 Ti Suprim X performed best in overclocking GDDR3090X chips. It was this model that was able to raise the memory frequency to 1538 MHz.

At standard settings, the performance of the ASUS graphics card in mining Etherea about 110 Mhash/s. The MSI model has a slightly lower indicator - 107 Mhash / s. At the same time, without optimization and under conditions of maximum load, the consumption of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti can easily reach 450-500 watts.

After overclocking the memory, optimizing the power consumption and reducing the frequency of the GPU graphics cards, the image improved significantly. With the maximum TDP limit of the accelerators using the MSI Afterburner application, the consumption of the MSI model was 340-345 W and the ASUS model was 360-365 W. At the same time, the mining efficiency index of the former increased to 132,5-134 Mhash/s, which is almost 25% more than the reference one. On the ASUS model it was 125-126 Mhash/s.

Mining profitability EthSo erea on a GeForce RTX 3090 Ti with memory overclocking and optimizations is about $5,5 per day (at the current cryptocurrency rate), excluding electricity costs. Accordingly, at an MSRP of $1, the GeForce RTX 999 Ti accelerator will pay for itself in 3090 days, and taking into account electricity costs, the graphics card will pay for itself in more than a year.
