Intel Pentium G4400
Intel needs no introduction. The company has been producing some of the best chipsets and processors on the market for several years now. This processor represents the latest 6th generation processors with the Skylake core architecture. It is intended for motherboards equipped with the new modern socket LGA 1151. The processors of the new Skylake architecture are built on 14 nm, one of the many functions is lower energy consumption even with high processor performance without a drop in performance. A two-channel controller supporting DDR3L and DDR4 memories is then connected to a noticeable increase in performance.
Modern Skylake architecture
The modern architecture of the 6th generation of processors, called Skylake, will offer much more. It uses the production 14nm process and the entire architecture of the processor has been noticeably redesigned. Skylake uses a much higher performance of the processor cores themselves with a significant increase in the performance of the graphics chip and at the same time lower consumption of the entire processor. The graphics chips in the Skylake processor can also cope with the ever-increasing number of high-resolution displays, such as WQHD 2560 x 1400, but also 4K 3840 x 2160. The iGPU can thus safely compete with cheaper dedicated graphics from AMD or nVidia. The graphics chip is very powerful, so it can cope with less demanding MMO and MOBA games in Full HD resolution without loss of quality and without the need to purchase an additional graphics card. The integrated graphics is called HD 510, will provide a maximum clock speed of up to 1000 MHz and supports DirectX 12 API.
DDR4 memory support
Processors from the Skylake family will also offer support for two-channel connection of operating memories of the modern DDR4 standard with a speed from 1866 MHz to 2133 MHz, but also older DDR3L with a speed of 1333 MHz to 1600 MHz. The maximum memory throughput can thus be 34,1 GB/s.
Key properties
The processor belongs to the product family for motherboards equipped with the new LGA 1151 socket. The processor has 2 physical cores. Each of the physical cores is clocked at 3.3 GHz. As with the previous generation of Intel processors, the memory controller is integrated directly into the chip in this processor. In this case, it is a dual-channel memory controller of the DDR4 type with a speed of up to 2133 MHz and DDR3L with a speed of up to 1600 MHz. The processor is also equipped with 3MB of third-level buffer memory (L3 Cache). There is also support for the PCI Express 3.0 interface (x16).
The TDP (Thermal Design Power) stated by the manufacturer is 54 W.
