ASUS has introduced the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card in the Megalodon version. The main feature of this solution is the absence of the need for a 16pin power cable (12VHPWR) or any other. Of course, it’s impossible to power a 200-watt graphics card through only one PCIe x16 connector, so the manufacturer added another connector alongside this one. And yes, a separate motherboard with the necessary power connector will be required to use this feature of the graphics card.
Of course, it is impossible to do without the power cables for the graphics card, but they will be hidden in the back. Combined with motherboards whose power connectors are located at the back, this graphics card can be a great solution for a build without visible cables, but currently this is only possible with ASUS components and the release dates for the Megalodon series graphics cards remain unknown.
