Bathhouse Spa uses mining equipment to heat water

Bathhouse, located in Brooklyn, New York State, informed its Instagram followers that it uses mining equipment to heat the water.

“Interesting fact! Did you know that our swimming pools are heated by the byproduct of bitcoin mining?”

Bathhouse wrote on social media. Bathhouse has a bitcoin mining facility that produces heat as a byproduct. The paper describes how heat is extracted and used to heat swimming pools through a circulation system. Opinions of the contributions were divided. Some admired the innovative approach.

“Thank you for your wise use of energy,”

wrote one user. However, there were those who pointed out the environmental damage of mining. Some also asked who exactly gets the income from mining.

“That has diminished my respect for your spa. I am concerned about who is mining this cryptocurrency, who is profiting from it. We need transparency,”

wrote another user. Recall that the Canadian company Heatmine has long been developing and testing a solution by which the heat generated by mining equipment will be used for heating, which will help reduce the cost of cryptocurrency mining. A few years ago, Kamil Brejcha, co-founder of the Czech cryptocurrency exchange NakamotoX, launched a startup that deals with growing agricultural crops using the heat generated by cryptocurrency mining.
