GPU mining: what you can mine with graphics cards in 2026

In 2026, graphics cards only mine smaller coins such as Ravencoin, Ergo, Neurai or Conflux. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Kaspa and Ethereum Classic have long been dominated by specialised ASIC miners, and Ethereum has not been mined at all since 2022. Even the most powerful gaming cards in the Czech Republic today mine roughly as much as they use in electricity, so GPU mining makes sense mainly with cheap energy or as a side use of a card you already own.
Which coins can be mined on a GPU
Graphics cards mine coins whose algorithms have no efficient ASICs or are designed to resist them. An overview based on mining calculators (Kryptex, October 2026):
| Coin | Algorithm | RTX 4090 (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Ravencoin (RVN) | KawPow | about 65 MH/s |
| Neurai (XNA) | KawPow | about 65 MH/s |
| Ergo (ERG) | Autolykos2 | about 265 MH/s |
| Conflux (CFX) | Octopus | about 130 MH/s |
| Ethereum PoW (ETHW) | Ethash | about 127 MH/s |
| Xelis (XEL) | XelisHashV2 | about 12.8 kH/s |
Performance depends on the card's settings (voltage, memory clock). The list changes quickly: as soon as an ASIC comes out for a coin, it pushes graphics cards out of that network.
Does GPU mining pay off in the Czech Republic
According to the Kryptex calculator, an RTX 4090 drawing around 300 W earned on average about USD 2 a day over the past year, roughly CZK 43. In the same time it uses 7.2 kWh, which at CZK 5/kWh comes to CZK 36. That leaves a few crowns a day of profit – and weaker cards fare worse.
For comparison: a Bitcoin ASIC miner with 1 TH/s of hashrate today earns 0,84 Kč a day, and the most efficient machines manage it with 15 W. That is why GPU mining only pays off in three cases:
- you have cheap electricity or surplus power from solar panels,
- you already own the card and mine when you are not using it for gaming or work,
- you are betting on the price of a smaller coin rising and take the risk consciously.

What to look for when choosing a card
- Efficiency – performance per watt, not raw performance. Newer generations tend to be more economical.
- Memory size – some algorithms need at least 8 GB of VRAM, and requirements keep growing.
- Memory cooling – during long operation it is mainly the memory chips that overheat.
- Uses other than mining – powerful cards today also hold value for gaming and AI computing.
