When to bring your graphics card in for service
Most faults show signs before the card dies completely. Watch out when:
- squares, stripes or “scattered” colours (artefacts) appear on the screen,
- the computer runs and the fans spin, but the monitor gets no signal,
- games crash or the picture freezes even though the driver is up to date,
- the driver installation ends with an error or the system doesn't see the card at all,
- the whole picture is a single colour or unnaturally stretched,
- the card overheats, the fans are humming or have stopped,
- smoke came out of the card, there's a burning smell or moisture has got into it.
If the card has smoked or is wet, don't connect it to power again – another part could be damaged unnecessarily.
What we repair on graphics cards
| Fault | What we do |
|---|---|
| Short circuit, the card won't start | We find and replace faulty components in the card's power circuitry. |
| Artefacts, memory errors | Video memory (VRAM) replacement, and on selected cards even a memory upgrade. |
| Faulty graphics chip | BGA soldering, reballing or chip replacement. |
| Damaged connector | Replacement of HDMI / DisplayPort outputs and power connectors. |
| Overheating, noise | Cleaning, new thermal paste and pads, fan repair or replacement. |
| Firmware error | Recovery and reprogramming of the card's BIOS. |
| Damaged board trace | Restoration of burnt or broken PCB traces. |
We use professional soldering and diagnostic equipment. We do the repairs ourselves in our service centre – we don't send the card anywhere else.
Gaming and mining cards
Much of our experience comes from repairing cards from mining rigs, which run non-stop and put more strain on power circuitry and memory than a gaming PC. We repair gaming, workstation and AI cards the same way. We repair every model on the market – including the very latest:
| Manufacturer | Series we repair |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 | RTX 5050, 5060, 5060 Ti, 5070, 5070 Ti, 5080, 5090 |
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 | RTX 4060, 4060 Ti, 4070, 4070 Super, 4070 Ti, 4070 Ti Super, 4080, 4080 Super, 4090 |

Don't see your model in the table? We'll repair it too – we just can't update the list as fast as manufacturers release new cards.
