Power supplies and PDUs

Power supplies for IceRiver ASIC miners, mining PDUs for power distribution on a farm, C13 and C19 power cables, 12AWG cable for the Antminer S21 and connections for hydro miners.

Choose the power supply according to the miner model – they differ in output, voltage and connectors. Send us the machine model and we will check which PSU or cable fits it. We can also repair a faulty power supply at our service centre.

How to choose a PSU, PDU and cables

Power supply is a common reason why a miner does not run at full power or keeps restarting. What to look for:

  1. PSU type (APW) to match the miner

Bitmain labels its power supplies APW with a series number (APW3 to APW12 and newer); IceRiver and other manufacturers have their own types. The PSU must match the miner model – otherwise it will not deliver the required power or the connector will not fit.

  2. Voltage: 230 V or 380–415 V

Air-cooled and home miners usually run on 230 V. Hydro and immersion miners mostly need three-phase 380–415 V – check this in the miner's specifications.

  3. Connectors and cable cross-section

    C13, C19, 12AWG or a three-phase socket – every miner has a different input. The cable must carry the continuous current, which you calculate as power ÷ voltage (3,500 W ÷ 230 V ≈ 15 A).

  4. Circuit protection and PDU

For continuous operation do not use more than about 80% of the circuit breaker's rating. Power multiple miners through a PDU with its own circuit protection, not through extension leads.

Which miners it is for

The power supplies and cables on offer are mainly for IceRiver, Antminer S21 and hydro miners. For other machines, write to us.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right PSU for my miner?

The PSU must match the miner model in power, output voltage and connectors. For IceRiver, for example, that is the HQ2000-A01 for the KS1 and KS2, the BP-H-3640 for the KS3 and KS3L, and a 240 W PSU for the KS0 Pro. Send us the exact machine model and we will check which PSU belongs to it.

Can you repair a faulty PSU?

Yes. We repair Bitmain APW3 to APW9 power supplies from 990 Kč, and APW12 and newer as well as Whatsminer and Avalon power supplies from 1 490 Kč. After the repair we test them under load. More on the page ASIC miner service.

Which power cable do I need?

We offer a cable with a C13 connector (0.75 mm²), a C19 230 V 16 A cable for the IceRiver KS3, a 12AWG cable for the Antminer S21 and, for hydro miners, the LP-12-4 socket and an adapter made from CYKY-J 4×6 cable. You can tell which connector your miner has from its power input or from the PSU.

What is a mining PDU for?

A PDU distributes power to several miners at once. Our mining PDU is rated at 21 kW, with 32 A protection and 24 sockets – it suits a rack or a smaller farm. The connection to the distribution board should be done by an electrician.

Is a standard socket enough?

Home miners up to about 1.7 kW can run from a standard socket on a circuit with a 16 A breaker. Powerful ASIC miners need their own circuit; hydro and immersion machines usually need 380–415 V. For continuous operation do not use more than about 80% of the breaker's rating, and do not use extension leads or multi-plug adapters.

Power supplies and PDUs for ASIC miners

Stable power matters to a miner just as much as cooling. A weak or faulty power supply causes hashboard dropouts, restarts and lower hashrate, while an undersized cable or an overloaded circuit breaker heats up. That is why for every power supply and cable we state which miners it is designed for, along with specifications such as output, voltage and connectors.

We stock power supplies for the IceRiver KS0 Pro, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS3L, a 21 kW mining PDU with 24 sockets, C13, C19 and 12AWG power cables for the Antminer S21 and connections for hydro miners. We repair faulty Bitmain, Whatsminer and Avalon power supplies in our service centre in Prague 10 and load-test them after repair. The current a cable has to carry is the miner's power draw divided by the voltage. Not sure how to wire it? Send us your miner model and we will advise you.
