Description

NerdMiner v2 is an open-source gadget for bitcoin enthusiasts: a small ESP32 board with a colour display running the NerdMiner firmware and trying its luck at solo Bitcoin mining. It is not an ASIC – its hashrate is only tens to hundreds of kH/s, roughly a billion times less than a standard ASIC miner.

The chance of finding a block is therefore practically zero; it is a “lottery” with a tiny probability, not a source of income. Its main purpose is educational: you will see how pool connection and hashing work, and you get a desk display showing the BTC price and network status.

Setup guide

We will set it up for you free of charge. Send us your wallet address and the miner will mine for you alone. If you do not have a wallet yet, we will help you create one.

How to set up an ASIC miner

Connect the network first, then the power. Connect the miner to your router with a network cable, on the same network as your computer. Only then switch it on.
Find the IP address. You can find it in your router’s list of devices or with the manufacturer’s tool.
Log in. Enter the IP address in your browser. The default username and password are in the manufacturer’s manual – we will gladly send it to you.
Set up the pool. Enter the pool address in the form stratum+tcp://…; as the Worker, enter your pool account name or wallet address, a full stop and the machine name, and x as the password. Save.
Check that it is mining. After a few minutes the miner will start mining. You can check the hashrate on the pool’s website.
