Antminer S19 95 TH/s vs S19j Pro vs S19 Pro 110 TH/s: how they differ

The Antminer S19 (95 TH/s), S19j Pro (100–104 TH/s) and S19 Pro (110 TH/s) differ mainly in their hashboards: the basic S19 has 76 chips per board, the Pro and j Pro versions significantly more (114 on the S19 Pro) with smaller heatsinks. The higher hashrate and better power use per terahash come at the cost of a higher failure rate and poorer repairability – something we have seen over the long term in our repair shop. Today these are older, mostly second-hand machines, so below you will also find whether they still pay off at today's difficulty.
Summary
- The difference in hashrate (95 / 104 / 110 TH/s) is small; the difference in board design is large.
- More chips per board = more heat sources and more places where something can go wrong.
- In the PC Praha repair shop, S19j Pro and S19 Pro boards have a significantly higher share of faults than the S19 95 TH/s and T19, and they are harder to repair.
- The Pro version has better efficiency (power per 1 TH/s) than the basic S19.
- At today's difficulty, the whole S19 series only breaks even with electricity at around CZK 1–1.2/kWh (as of 18 Oct 2026).
Where the three S19 versions came from
Bitmain launched the Antminer S19 with a hashrate of 95 TH/s. As with the previous S9 and S17 series, modifications followed: the Antminer S19 Pro with 110 TH/s and, towards the end of 2021, the S19j Pro in 100 and 104 TH/s versions. By November 2021, the manufacturer was offering only the S19j Pro on its website.
At first glance the difference in hashrate is small. But buyers often want “the most powerful one” in the belief that more powerful is better – even at a significantly higher price. However, a higher hashrate or a newer model doesn't automatically mean higher quality.
How the hashboards differ
The board of the Antminer S19 95 TH/s (as on the T19) has 76 chips (left in the photo). The S19j Pro and S19 Pro boards have significantly more chips – 114 on the S19 Pro – and each chip has a smaller heatsink (right in the photo).

| Model | Hashrate | Power draw (approx.) | Chips per board | Failure rate in our repair shop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Antminer S19 / T19 | 95 TH/s | ~3,250 W | 76 | lower, easily repairable |
| Antminer S19j Pro | 100–104 TH/s | ~3,050–3,070 W | significantly more than 76 | higher, harder to repair |
| Antminer S19 Pro | 110 TH/s | ~3,250 W | 114 | higher, harder to repair |
How a hashboard is built and what most often fails on it is explained in our article Hashboard.
What the difference means in practice
Chip quality and failure rate
We saw a similar situation with the 17 series: the T17 had 30 chips per board, the S17 48, and the manufacturer fitted lower-quality chips to the latter, which showed in a higher share of faulty units and more frequent repairs. With the S19j Pro at 104 TH/s, the hashrate is only 9 TH/s higher than the S19 95 TH/s, but there are many more chips, running at a lower frequency.
We estimate this from our own fault statistics and experience with repairing the 19 series: our repair engineers record a much higher share of faults on S19j Pro and S19 Pro boards than on the S19 95 TH/s and T19, and their repairability is significantly worse.
Heat in summer
S19j Pro and S19 Pro boards overheat more often in the summer months – the chips run at 85 °C or more. More chips means more heat sources in the same area. In winter you may not notice the difference; in summer you certainly will.
More chips, more risk
The more chips on a board, the greater the probability that one of them fails. And a faulty chip puts strain on the others, so one fault can spread across the whole board.
Power consumption
On the other hand, the Pro version has better efficiency than the basic S19 – it uses less energy per 1 TH/s. When choosing, therefore, weigh everything together: hashrate, efficiency, thermal stability and repairability.
Does the S19 series pay off in 2026?
Today, 1 TH/s on Bitcoin earns 0,84 Kč a day. At today's difficulty and price (as of 18 Oct 2026), the figures are:
| Model | Gross income / day | Consumption / day | Break-even |
|---|---|---|---|
| S19 95 TH/s | ~CZK 80 | 78 kWh | ~CZK 1.02/kWh |
| S19j Pro 104 TH/s | ~CZK 87 | ~74 kWh | ~CZK 1.19/kWh |
| S19 Pro 110 TH/s | ~CZK 92 | 78 kWh | ~CZK 1.18/kWh |
The cheapest hosting location today costs 1,13 Kč/kWh, so the S19j Pro and S19 Pro roughly break even and the basic S19 makes a slight loss. Today the S19 series mainly makes sense with your own very cheap electricity or as a heat source (see Heating with an ASIC miner). If you are buying a used machine, our earlier recommendation still applies: the S19 95 TH/s is more reliable, being significantly more robust than the versions with more chips.
