Radiant (RXD): what it is, how it is mined and whether it pays off today

Radiant (RXD) is a small proof-of-work blockchain derived from Bitcoin, mined with the SHA512256d algorithm on ASIC miners. Today, 1 TH/s earns approximately 13,62 Kč per day. However, the whole network is very small and the coin trades on only a few exchanges, so mining RXD with household electricity runs at a loss, and even on cheap hosting only the small IceRiver RX0 comes out ahead.
Summary
- Radiant launched its mainnet on 21 June 2022. It builds on the UTXO model like Bitcoin and adds tokens and smart contracts directly on the first layer.
- A block is produced roughly every 5 minutes; since the halving in April 2026 the reward has been 12,500 RXD per block. The next halving is expected around 2028.
- As of 3 November 2026 the whole network has only around 159 TH/s and a market capitalisation of around USD 0.56 million. A single DragonBall A11 therefore accounts for roughly 2% of the network hashrate.
- In 2026 RXD was delisted by the CoinEx exchange and MEXC flagged it with a delisting warning. Selling mined coins is therefore the main risk.
- Beware of the mix-up: Radiant (RXD) has nothing to do with the DeFi project Radiant Capital, which was hacked in 2024.
What is Radiant (RXD)
Radiant is an independent blockchain that was created in June 2022 as a fork of the Bitcoin code. Like Bitcoin, it uses the UTXO model (unspent transaction outputs) and proof of work. It differs in having added new opcodes to the scripting language, which make it possible to create tokens, NFTs and simple contracts directly on the network without a second layer.
According to the project's technical paper, Radiant has a maximum supply of 21 billion RXD, an initial reward of 50,000 RXD per block and a target block time of 5 minutes. The coin has 8 decimal places. Tokens on Radiant use the Glyph standard, whose second version has been in the draft stage since January 2026.
Development is handled by the community (Radiant Blockchain Community); there is no company or well-funded foundation behind the project. In 2026 new versions of the Radiant Core node were released: v2.1.0 with six new opcodes (activated from block 410,000) and, in June, v3.1.2 following a brief network split on 15 June 2026.
How RXD is mined: algorithm, block and reward
RXD is mined with the SHA512256d algorithm (double SHA-512/256). It is not the same algorithm as Bitcoin's SHA-256, so Bitcoin miners such as the Antminer S21 do not work on Radiant. Graphics cards and processors no longer stand a chance today; the network is dominated by ASIC miners (we explain what they are in the article What is an ASIC miner).
The reward is halved every 2 years, i.e. every 210,000 blocks (we describe the principle in the article Halving). For Bitcoin it is 4 years, so Radiant reduces issuance twice as fast.
| Period | Blocks | Block reward |
| 6/2022 – 4/2024 | 0 – 209,999 | 50,000 RXD |
| 4/2024 – 4/2026 | 210,000 – 419,999 | 25,000 RXD |
| from 10 April 2026 | 420,000 – 629,999 | 12,500 RXD |
| estimated 2028 | from 630,000 | 6,250 RXD |
According to WhatToMine, as of 3 November 2026 the network is at roughly block 477,600 and the average block takes 4–5 minutes. That leaves approximately 150,000 blocks until the next halving, or roughly a year and a half.
How much RXD mining earns today
We recalculate the yield every hour: 1 TH/s on SHA512256d earns 13,62 Kč per day today at a price of 0,00061 Kč per 1 RXD (updated 3. 11. 2026). You can follow the hashrate and difficulty of other networks on the Mining statistics page.
To give an idea of the network's size: around 280 blocks are produced per day, i.e. about 3.5 million RXD. At today's price that is only around 2,150 Kč per day for all Radiant miners combined (as of 3 November 2026). For comparison, a single Antminer S21 XP (270 TH/s) mines a similar amount on Bitcoin in roughly 11 days.
Below is our calculation for the two miners we offer. Household electricity is 4.50 Kč/kWh; for hosting we use the standard rates of two of our locations (Nigeria #2 ≈ 1.14 Kč/kWh, Finland ≈ 1.42 Kč/kWh at an exchange rate of 21.78 Kč/USD). Figures are as of 3 November 2026, excluding pool fees.
| Miner | Hashrate / power | Efficiency | Gross yield / day | At home (4.50 Kč/kWh) | Hosting Finland | Hosting Nigeria #2 | Profitable up to |
| IceRiver RX0 | 0.26 TH/s / 100 W | 384.6 J/TH | 3.5 Kč | −7.3 Kč | +0.1 Kč | +0.8 Kč | 1.48 Kč/kWh |
| DragonBall A11 (RXD) | 3.2 TH/s / 2,300 W | 718.8 J/TH | 43.6 Kč | −205 Kč | −35 Kč | −19 Kč | 0.79 Kč/kWh |
Efficiency in J/TH is what matters (we explain how to calculate it in the article ASIC miner power consumption and J/TH). The IceRiver RX0 is almost twice as efficient as the DragonBall A11, which is why it is the only one that comes out slightly above zero on cheap power. The cheapest electricity on our hosting is currently 1,14 Kč per kWh.
Besides RXD, the DragonBall A11 can also mine Alephium (Blake3, 1.2 TH/s). At today's prices, however, it earns even less on Alephium, around 4.5 Kč per day (as of 3 November 2026). Switching the algorithm therefore does not solve the loss.
Which miner to use for RXD
Only two ASIC miners exist for Radiant today, and you will find both in the Radiant miners (SHA512256d) collection. Prices as of 3 November 2026:
- IceRiver RX0 – 0.26 TH/s, 100 W, for 28,199 Kč (at home) or 19,357 Kč (hosted). A small and very quiet machine (around 10 dB) that fits on a desk. Made to order.
- DragonBall A11 – 3.2 TH/s, 2,300 W, 74,299 / 59,559 Kč. Loud (75 dB), it belongs in a server room. Availability and delivery date confirmed on request.
The payback period of both machines is currently longer than their service life unless the price of RXD rises significantly. We therefore recommend seeing the RX0 as a quiet toy for enthusiasts who want to support Radiant rather than as a source of income. When placed in our hosting, a warranty of 84 months applies; for use at home it is 24 months.
Pools and wallets for RXD
As of 3 November 2026, WhatToMine lists the following pools for RXD: K1Pool (the largest, around 25% of the network), WoolyPooly, 1pool and zpool. Always copy the stratum address and port directly from the pool's website. The Kryptex pool ended RXD support on 18 September 2026. We describe how the payout methods differ in the article PPS, PPLNS and FPPS.
You need an RXD address for payouts. The Radiant developers recommend Photonic Wallet, a browser wallet that also supports Glyph tokens. When setting it up, store your 24-word recovery phrase safely. We do not recommend using an exchange address: the number of exchanges listing RXD is shrinking, and if the coin were delisted you would have to withdraw your funds quickly.
Risks of mining Radiant
- Liquidity. In August 2026 CoinEx delisted RXD and MEXC flagged the coin with an ST warning, with delisting expected on 10 September 2026. As of 3 November 2026 WhatToMine lists a single exchange (NonKYC) with a daily volume of around 0.03 BTC. Selling larger amounts of RXD may be difficult.
- A very small network. With a hashrate of around 159 TH/s, roughly 25 DragonBall A11 machines would be enough for half of the network's hashrate. Small networks are more vulnerable to 51% attacks and difficulty swings.
- Fast halvings. The reward is halved every 2 years. Around 2028 the yield per 1 TH/s will drop by half unless the price rises in the meantime.
- A single algorithm. The RX0 can only mine SHA512256d. If RXD mining stops paying off, the machine cannot be switched to another profitable coin.
- Name confusion. Radiant Capital (DeFi lending on Arbitrum and BNB Chain) lost about USD 50 million in October 2024 and announced in June 2026 that it was winding down. It is unrelated to the Radiant (RXD) blockchain, but the names get mixed up in the news.
This article is not investment advice. Yields change every day depending on the RXD price and network difficulty.
