IceRiver miners come from the factory with thermal paste rated at 3 W. In practice, some chips can run at up to 90 °C while the miner's dashboard shows only 60 °C – so the real condition of the device stays hidden.
How we proceed
- First, we check the actual chip temperature in our service centre and determine whether replacing the paste is really necessary.
- If so, we replace the original paste with a more effective 8 W one, which can lower the chip temperature significantly.
Long-term operation at high temperatures can lead to hashboard failure. A repair by the manufacturer in China could leave you without your miner for one to two months – regular maintenance is cheaper.
We will confirm the price and date once we have agreed the details. You can drop the miner off in person at our shop, or we can arrange a courier pick-up.
You pay nothing upfront
Send us your order and we will agree how you get the machine to us. After diagnostics we will tell you what needs doing and how much it will cost. We do nothing without your consent. Diagnostics are free if we carry out the repair.
